You will find Corralejo to the north of Fuerteventura. Its an old harbour town which is quite a bit larger in size then Caleta. You can indulge yourself in a little bit of local history here in the old town.
The main beach is called Playa la Clavellina and is normally well populated with both visitors and locals. You can also spot many people partaking in a little fishing around here too. At the Marina you can avail of ferries traveling to other islands such as Lanzarote. Check out some of the special boat tours offered here as they may appeal to you and your traveling companions.
If you head south in your Fuerteventura Airport car hire you will come to a couple more normally less busy beaches where you can enjoy spectacular views of the island of Lobos. Beaches such as Playa del Medano and Playa del Pozo connect along the shore and may also be referred to as Flag Beach at times. Water sports are quite popular here.
You can expect to find some bathers opting for the “au naturel” look around here so keep that in mind as there are no set areas with locals having a very relaxed attitude to such things.
