The name of the countryside belonging to the south west of Fuerteventura is called Jandia.
Mountains Galore
It’s a mountainous region boasting the biggest mountain in the island in the shape of Pico de Jandía which stands at roughly eight hundred metres high.
You wont find much in the way of vegetation in this part of Fuerteventura.
Jandia Beaches
There are some fantastic beaches around here which are ripe for discovery as you cruise along the coastline in your Fuerteventura Airport rental car.
Windsurfing in Jandia
There is a stretch of twenty kilometres to be enjoyed at your leisure. Its also known as an excellent area for windsurfing and proudly plays host to the P.W.A. World windsurfing speed championship which takes place annually in August and attracts some fierce competition.
Popular Tourist Spot
Jandia is very popular with German visitors but you will also find quite a few Brits as well as some friendly locals.
